This course expands upon the material covered in I-100 through G-300. G-400 focuses on large single agency and complex multi-agency/ multi-jurisdictional incident response. The course addresses area command and staff issues, as well as the planning, logistical, and fiscal considerations associated with complex incident management and interagency coordination.

Incident Response Considerations for Rail Incidents
The course provides an opportunity for emergency management and response personnel This four-hour class is designed to comply with NFPA 472/470: Standard for Competence of Responders to Hazardous Materials Incidents, specifically focusing on railcar awareness training. Key Topics Include: Tank Car Identification, Rail Documents / AskRail Mobile App, Tank Car Valves & Fittings, Hazard Risk Assessment, Offensive and Defensive Response Considerations, and Locomotive Emergencies.

The course provides an opportunity for emergency management and response personnel to begin de-veloping an Incident Command System (ICS)/Emergency Operations Center (EOC) interface for their communities. The course reviews ICS and EOC characteristics, responsibilities and functions and depends heavily on activities and group discussions to formulate an interface.

Incident Response Considerations for Lithium Battery Emergencies
This course is designed to provide responders with the understanding of the hazards associated with Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) Batteries. This training provides a comprehensive overview of batteries found in transportation, commercial, industrial, and residential settings.
Participants will review several case studies and best practices, in order to make safe and calculated decisions in an emergency response setting. Participants will receive response SOGs for lithium battery incidents, electric vehicle emergencies, and battery energy storage system emergencies.

This course examines the role of public information in managing an all-hazards incident and provides practical training in crisis communication techniques. In such an incident, it is imperative that community leaders, incident managers, and public information officers are prepared to communicate with the public through the news and social media. The course focuses on the role of public information in incident management, the information needs of the public in a crisis, and the various means of effectively communicating through the news and social media. Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to manage the major elements associated with public information in a WMD, terrorism and all-hazards incident.
